(Hokkaido, 18 December, 2024) – Expanding its wings even further across Japan, Vietjet Thailand successfully inaugurates its latest service connecting Bangkok and Hokkaido (via Taipei, with a seamless one-hour stopover and check-through baggage service). The inaugural flight was celebrated with a warm welcome ceremony at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and New Chitose Airport (CTS), marking a new chapter in connecting travelers to the beautiful island of Hokkaido.

 

The inaugural flight departed from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) with a stopover in Taipei, where it was honored with a welcome ceremony and a water salute send-off to Hokkaido. Onboard, passengers enjoyed the "Fly for Love" dance performance by Vietjet Thailand’s cabin crew, treated with a special drink from the airline’s Sky Café, and received a memorable souvenir to mark the occasion.

 

Upon arrival at New Chitose Airport, passengers on the inaugural VZ570 flight from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Taipei received a warm welcome from Mr. Isao Arai,  Honorary Consul, Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in Sapporo;  Mr. Yoshifumi Nishimoto, Senior Director for Facility Management, Bureau of Ports and Aviation, Hokkaido Government; Mr. Kajorndet Apichartrakul, Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Tokyo Office; Mr. Koichi Kotani, New Chitose Airport office East Japan, Civil Aviation Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Administrator of New Chitose Airport; Mr. Kenjiro Karahashi, Hokkaido Airport, Managing Director and Mr. Pinyot Pibulsonggram, Head of Commercial of Vietjet Thailand.

In the early stage of operation, the service between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Hokkaido (via Taipei, with a seamless one-hour stopover) will operate with the frequency of 3 flights a week, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flight VZ570 will depart from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) at 09:05, arrive in Taipei at 13:45 and transit in just 1 hour, then continue to New Chitose Airport (CTS) in Hokkaido with arrival at 19:25. The return flight VZ571 will leave Hokkaido at 20:25, arrive in Taipei at 00:25, and land in Bangkok at 04:25 (all in local time).
