(Songklah, April 5, 2024) – Thai Vietjet, together with local organizations including Marine and Coastal Resources Office 5 (Songkhla), Marine Office, and Mangrove Forest Conservation Club at Baan Hua Khao, mark a significant milestone of its 'Fly Green Metro Forest - Mangrove' event, held at Songklah Lake, Songklah, on April 5, 2024. The initiative saw the participation of numerous volunteers, including passengers, members, students, and staff, who joined hands to plant a total of 10,000 mangrove trees.

In addition to the mangrove planting, the event served as a platform for raising environmental awareness among the younger generation, with Thai Vietjet extending invitations to students from the hill tribes in Chiang Rai to join hands in this tree-planting effort.

The 'Fly Green Metro Forest' project stems from the airline's environmental fund, the 'Fly Green Fund,' which was established in early 2021 with the ultimate goal of environmental sustainability and preservation.

The primary objective of the ‘Fly Green Metro Forest’ project is to enhance green spaces within Thailand's urban areas. Building upon the successful establishment of Metro Forests in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, the recent event in Songklah stands as another notable achievement in the airline's ongoing efforts.

Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Vietjet, expressed his gratitude to all participants and emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges. He stated, "The successful plantation of 10,000 mangrove trees at Songklah Lake reaffirms our dedication to environmental sustainability. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to making this event a success. Their dedication and commitment underscore our shared vision of a greener, more sustainable future for our planet."

Since the establishment of the Fly Green Fund, Thai Vietjet has consistently been carrying out a wide range of environmental projects and activities, including 'Garbage Hunter' – a project to remove garbage from various locations in Thailand, ‘Fly Green Charity Golf Day’ – the first charity golf tournament under Fly Green Fund, ‘Fly Green Metro Forest’ – a project to increase more green areas in the urban cities in Thailand, and ‘Vietjet Fly Green Charity Concert’ – an event to create awareness about environmental issues among music fans and raise funds from concert tickets sales for environmental preservation activities.
