(Bangkok, May 12, 2023) – Following the first successful phase of ‘Fly Green Metro Forest’ in Bangkok, Thai Vietjet announced Chiang Mai as its 2nd city for the project, inviting its passengers, members, students, and staff to join hands in planting trees at Royal Park Rajapruek, Chiang Mai, on May 18, 2023.
The 'Fly Green Metro Forest' project stems from the airline's environmental fund, the 'Fly Green Fund,' which was established in early 2021 with the ultimate goal of supporting the Seub Nakhasathien Foundation's environmental preservation activities in Thailand to protect the forest and endangered wildlife.
The main goal of the "Fly Green Metro Forest" project is to create additional green spaces in Thailand's urban regions. Following the first Fly Green Metro Forest's success in Bangkok, it is now time to expand to Chiang Mai.

Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Vietjet, said: "Thai Vietjet has made continuous contributions to the sustainability of environmental protection, such as reducing pollution from daily operations and implementing numerous environmental protection measures that lessen the root causes of the global warming issue that humanity has been facing with. Today, with the continuation of the Fly Green Metro Forest project to increase the green space in the urban areas in Thailand, this time we’ll bring more greens to Chiang Mai, highlighting our commitment to saving the earth, which is the primary goal of Fly Green Fund"
Since the establishment of the Fly Green Fund, Thai Vietjet has consistently been carrying out a wide range of environmental projects and activities, including 'Garbage Hunter' – a project with the purpose of removing garbage from various locations in Thailand, ‘Fly Green Charity Golf Day’ – the first charity golf tournament under Fly Green Fund, ‘Fly Green Metro Forest’ – a project to increase more green areas in the urban cities in Thailand, and ‘Vietjet Fly Green Charity Concert’ – an event to create awareness about environmental issues among music fans and raise funds from concert tickets sales to support Sueb Nakhasathien Foundation’s environmental preservation activities.
Fly Green Fund was established in 2021 with the ultimate goal of supporting Seub Nakhasathien Foundation's environmental activities to continue safeguarding, preserving, and defending the forest and endangered animals.
The Fly Green Metro Forest will be held for 2nd time on May 18, 2023, at Royal Park Rajapruek, Chiang Mai. For more information, please visit www.vietjetair.com
