Songkhla, 27 March 2026 – Vietjet Thailand reinforces its position as a sustainability-driven airline by advancing its Fly Green mission, organizing coastal clean-up and mangrove ecosystem restoration activities under the “Fly Green – Garbage Hunter 20th” and “Fly Green – Mangrove Forest 6th” initiatives. The program aims to restore natural resources while supporting the recovery of the local economy, reflecting the airline’s strong commitment to its ongoing collaboration with the Chaipattana Foundation to enhance quality of life and strengthen communities in a tangible and sustainable way.

Ms. Sayada Benjakul, Corporate Affairs Vice President at Vietjet Thailand, shared that “The airline is committed to driving growth in line with ESG principles while delivering value to society, communities, and the environment through conservation initiatives under the Fly Green Fund. Following the severe flooding in Songkhla last year, which significantly impacted local ecosystems and tourism, the airline has implemented the “Fly Green – Garbage Hunter” and “Fly Green – Mangrove Forest” programs to restore natural resources, stimulate the local economy, and enhance readiness to welcome tourists once again. This reflects the airline’s belief that sustainable growth must go hand in hand with social and environmental responsibility to build a better future together.”

Vietjet Thailand mobilized its employees and Vietjet FUN Rewards members in Songkhla, joining forces with government agencies, private sector partners, academic institutions, royal volunteers and local communities to carry out a coastal clean-up at Samila Beach, covering over 250 meters and collecting more than 1,000 kilograms of waste, primarily flood debris and accumulated plastic, helping restore the landscape, enhance tourism readiness, and raise environmental awareness among youth, while also planting 10,000 mangrove trees and releasing 20,000 juvenile crabs into Songkhla Lake to rehabilitate mangrove ecosystems, enrich coastal biodiversity, and support the sustainability of local marine resources.

Moreover, the airline supported local businesses by curating a selection of Songkhla’s signature dishes, including grilled sticky rice with fish, sea bass sandwiches with preserved egg yolk, Sathing Phrapalm sugar, mini mango cakes, coconut jelly, fresh aromatic coconut, and Saba Yoi Robusta drip coffee for participants to enjoy. The initiative not only showcased local culinary specialties but also helped promote the province’s unique identity and strengthen Songkhla’s image as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.
