Bangkok, 28 May 2026 – Vietjet Thailand marked the 50th anniversary of Thailand–Vietnam diplomatic relations by celebrating two major milestones: serving 50 million passengers (in domestic Thailand & between the two countries) and expanding its fleet with the firm plan of 50 Boeing 737-8 aircraft by 2028. The announcement was made during the Thailand–Vietnam Business Forum 2026, attended by senior leaders from both countries, with the presence of H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of Thailand, and H.E. Tô Lâm, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Mr. Woranate Laprabang, CEO of Vietjet Thailand, shared that the achievements reflect the airline’s strong growth and commitment to strengthening connectivity between Thailand and Vietnam through aviation, tourism, trade, and investment. These milestones represent not only Vietjet Thailand’s growth journey, but also the strong and enduring partnership between Thailand and Vietnam over the past 50 years.
Since its establishment in 2014, Vietjet Thailand has become one of Thailand’s fastest-growing airlines, operating an extensive Thailand–Vietnam network connecting Bangkok with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and Cam Ranh, positively facilitating travel and trade growth between the two countries.

Looking ahead, the airline plans to further enhance connectivity through integrated flight services between Vietjet and Vietjet Thailand, while advancing sustainable aviation with the deployment of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) on selected Thailand–Vietnam routes.
