Bangkok, 5 June 2026 – Vietjet Thailand marks the success of its sustainability initiatives under the Fly Green Fund on World Environment Day, highlighting five years of tangible environmental and social impact. The program has advanced natural resource conservation, strengthened collaboration with partners, reduced operational carbon emissions, and fostered environmental awareness and public engagement. These achievements reaffirm the airline’s role as a green carrier driving collective progress toward its Net Zero target by 2050.

Ms. Sayada Benjakul, Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Vietjet Thailand, stated that sustainability has become one of the most critical challenges for the aviation industry, which ranks among the highest contributors to carbon emissions compared to other sectors, while demand for air travel continues to grow steadily. Recognizing this pressing reality, Vietjet Thailand has strengthened its long-term sustainability strategy under the Fly Green commitment, implemented through the Fly Green Fund, to systematically drive measurable environmental and social impact and support the transition toward a lower-carbon aviation future.

Since 2021, the Fly Green Fund has continuously played a key role in advancing environmental sustainability through projects with clear operational frameworks and measurable impact across 4 key dimensions, including:

· Natural Resource Conservation focuses on restoring marine and coastal ecosystems through the “Fly Green Garbage Hunter & Scuba Project,” engaging employees, volunteers, and communities to remove over 6,300 kg of waste from beaches and underwater areas. This is complemented by the “Fly Green Forest – Mangrove” initiative, which has planted more than 60,000 mangrove trees and released over 30,000 aquatic animals back into nature since its launch.

· Support for Sustainability Partnerships funds raised through the “Fly Green Charity Run” support environmental initiatives, with Vietjet Thailand donating THB 100,000 from the latest event to the Chaipattana Foundation to advance sustainability efforts.

· Operational Carbon Reduction through “Green Route” operations using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Boeing 737-8 aircraft, cutting emissions by up to 80% versus conventional fuel, Vietjet Thailand advances its decarbonization efforts. The addition of 16 new Boeing aircraft this year will further boost efficiency and strengthen long-term carbon reduction, in line with its clean-energy fleet and ground transport strategy.

· Environmental Education and Public engagement Empowering youth through the “Young Ambassadors” program, Vietjet Thailand fosters hands-on sustainability learning and action. The initiative is further strengthened by passenger engagement via the “STOP FOOD WASTE” – Eat Well, Go Green, Win More” campaign with The Mall Group and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, promoting food waste reduction and proper in-flight waste segregation.

Vietjet Thailand continues to expand its sustainability initiatives through stronger collaboration with public and private partners, advancing social development and natural resource conservation. The airline also enhances waste management and recycling practices while introducing new environmental initiatives, ensuring every journey contributes to a more sustainable aviation future and reinforcing its position as an accessible green airline for all.
