(Bangkok, July 23, 2025) – Vietjet Thailand is continuing its strong commitment to environmental sustainability with the upcoming Fly Green project, set to take place from July 30 – August 1, 2025, in Phetchaburi. This initiative encompasses a series of environmentally driven activities, including Garbage Hunter and Mangrove Forest. This event is part of the airline’s Fly Green Fund, which promotes sustainable development, ecosystem restoration, responsible tourism, and increased public awareness of environmental conservation.
Under this initiative, Vietjet Thailand joins hands with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and student volunteers from nearby universities to organize the 19th ‘Fly Green - Garbage Hunter’ activity at Chao Samran Beach, where participants will help clean one of Thailand’s key marine habitats. Since its launch in 2022, the Garbage Hunter project has worked to remove waste from many places across the country, including underwater clean-ups at Samae San Island, removing over five tons of trash each year. This project encourages local communities to join in protecting the environment.
Meanwhile, the ‘Fly Green - Mangrove Forest’ activity marks the 5th time Vietjet Thailand has undertaken this significant environmental effort. In collaboration with the Chaipattana Foundation and other key partners, the airline will lead a project aimed at restoring forest ecosystems and promoting ecological balance. The activity will involve planting thousands of mangrove trees and releasing 10,000 freshwater fish into the wetlands at Laem Phak Bia. These efforts are designed to revitalize vital ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and enrich the natural environment which reinforce Vietjet Thailand’s strong commitment to sustainability and its dedication to the long-term well-being of local communities.
“Vietjet Thailand is fully committed to reducing emissions and leading positive change through meaningful action. With this upcoming event, we aim not only to restore important ecosystems but also to inspire communities to join us in building a greener, more sustainable future. We look forward to welcoming all participants and partners as we work together to protect the planet - today and for generations to come,” said Mr. Woranate Laprabang, Chief Executive Officer of Vietjet Thailand.
Through strong partnerships with the Chaipattana Foundation, government agencies, academic institutions, and civil society organizations, Vietjet Thailand continues to lead sustainable aviation and inspire collective responsibility in environmental protection.
