(Bangkok, 8 September 2025) Vietjet Thailand has won two accolades at the 15th Thailand Tourism Awards 2025 from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for its ‘Fly Green Fund: Garbage Hunter & Scuba Project’. The airline received the Thailand Tourism Outstanding Award in the Private Organisation category and the Thailand Tourism Sustainability Award in the Tourism Support and Promotion Organisations category. Those honours express VietJet Thailand’s commitment to its Fly Green mission and highlight its success as a pioneering low-cost carrier in sustainability.

The winning entry was the ‘Garbage Hunter & Scuba Project,’ established under the Fly Green Fund, launched in 2021 by the airline with the primary objective of supporting environmental and sustainability initiatives. The project has been carried out in collaboration with key tourism stakeholders including TAT, the Chaipattana Foundation, various academic institutions, the Royal Thai Navy, and reputable environmental NGOs. Its aim is to encourage civil society participation in the protection of the environment, the restoration of natural resources, and the sustainable revitalisation of ecosystems at tourism destinations.

“The Thailand Tourism Awards 2025 reaffirms VietJet Thailand’s strong commitment to sustainable engagement with society, communities, and the environment, and particularly a long-term goal of driving the aviation industry towards NET ZERO 2050. The ‘Garbage Hunter & Scuba Project’ expands the initiative from waste removal on land to the ocean, aiming to protect marine life and preserve underwater ecosystems. A highlight of the project was a diving activity at Samae San island of Chonburi province, designed to encourage participation in sustainable ocean clean-ups,” said Ms. Sayada Benjakul, Corporate Affairs Vice President of Vietjet Thailand.

Ms. Sayada continued that beyond the ‘Garbage Hunter & Scuba Project’ under the ‘Fly Green Fund’, Vietjet Thailand has launched several other key initiatives, such as the ‘Fly Green Metro Forest’ and ‘Mangrove Forest’ projects, which support research and development at the Laem Phak Bia Environmental Research and Development Project under the Royal Initiative, as well as reforestation campaigns to restore natural ecosystems. These projects aim to plant 500,000 trees by 2030.

In addition, the airline has organised activities to stimulate sports tourism while promoting environmental awareness among participants, such as the Charity Run project, which attracts more than 1,500 participants annually. This demonstrates strong public engagement and support. Collectively, these initiatives reflect VietJet Thailand’s determination to deliver diverse, youth-oriented services, while continuing to stand alongside Thai society in every circumstance.
